Who and What
Candoris team members Gregory Dandy and Steve Shyda hosted an event in Pittsburgh, where a team from an oil and natural gas company mentioned that they needed to upgrade their datacenter. They were originally interested in using a slow, three-phase approach, and the Candoris team provided budgetary quotes not long after the event. As the customer wasn’t quite ready for a new IT solution, Steve took to checking in with them periodically to see where things stood and address any questions or needs as they arose.
When this company reevaluated their IT environment, they noticed that some gaps in their licensing and hardware would need to be resolved much more quickly than they’d previously thought. Candoris engineers made themselves available and flexible as communication ramped up to meet new deadlines and as the customer worked to get the budget approved.
The final solution was an all-Dell EMC data center and core networking refresh, encompassing Hypervisors, physical DB hosts, and virtualized storage. This customer has already re-engaged Candoris for their next project, commenting on how comfortable they were reaching out to the engineers with technical questions, and how impressed they were at the reliability of the sales team’s patient, close contact throughout the entire process. From initial discussions through project deployment, gradual progress on a long-term vision resulted in success for both parties.
